Betty Lee Jones, 86 of Smyrna, DE passed away at home on July 20, 2020.

Betty was born on November 29, 1933, daughter of the late Burton Meredith Green and Catherine Lee Green.  She was raised in Crumpton and was a 1951 graduate of Sudlersville High School. Betty married and raised her family in Crumpton.  She also worked as a nurse's aide and for Leeds Travel Ware.  In the early 1970's she moved to Smyrna where she enjoyed reading, crocheting and baking.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 children, Bruce Edward Jones, Lawrence Burton Jones, James Thomas Jones and Kay Ann Jones; a sister Frances Ann Powell and companion of 20 years, Norman Rathel.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son in law, Patricia and David Cornelius of Chestertown; a brother William Burton Green of Crumpton; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27 at 10 am in Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Faith in Action/Ewell's-St. Paul United Methodist Church, 401 West St., Clayton, DE 19938
