Barbara Kubik McDanolds, 82, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born December 7, 1943, in York, PA to the late Stephen J. and Carolyn K. Kubik. Having earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Wesley College in Dover, DE, followed by a Masters Degree from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, she will be most remembered for her time as an instructor in the Vocational Nursing Program at Kent County High School, and as Patient Educator at Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital in Chestertown. Throughout her career, she provided invaluable support and education to patients, emphasizing the importance of care and understanding.

Outside of her professional life, Barbara cherished moments spent with family. She took great joy in hosting crab feasts and other gatherings on the farm. She enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, and traveling alongside her husband, Bill. She was also an active member in the Maryland Questers. Barbara felt it was important to keep history alive through education, preservation, and restoration. Yet her greatest source of pride was always her family and their many accomplishments..

Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, William R. McDanolds II; her son, William R. McDanolds III, and his wife, Heidi; her daughter, Wendy McDanolds, and her husband, Gregory; grandchildren Sarah, Ryan, and Finnian; and her sister, Debbie Devine, along with her husband, John. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Kubik.

Barbara Kubik McDanolds’ life was one of dedicated service, love, and devotion. Her legacy endures through her family and the many lives she touched.
