Obituary

Barbara L. Kimble, 64 of Chestertown, MD, was called home on August 7, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore.

Ms. Kimble was born March 4, 1956 in Chestertown, MD, daughter of the late Paul Fred Wood, Sr. and Emma Louise Wood.  She was raised in Centreville on the family farm.  After high school Ms. Kimble married James Webster Kimble, Jr., her longtime boyfriend. She moved and began her own family in Crumpton, MD.  As her family began to grow, she moved to Chester Harbor, where she spent years working and taking care of her 3 children.  After her children were grown and after the death of her mother in 2007, she moved out to the Brickhouse in Quaker Neck, where she happily spent the rest of her days here on earth.  Barbara worked as a private duty nurse for 18 years for Joe Suydam.  Upon his passing, she then worked for Washington College and Acme Markets in Chestertown, continuing to provide for her children.

Ms. Kimble is survived by her brother, Paul Fred Wood, Jr. (Cherry) of Queenstown, MD; her 3 children, Jennifer Kimble of Chestertown, James Webster Kimble, III (Jessica) of Church Hill and Jaclyn Marie Kennard (Lamont) of Chestertown; her 3 grandchildren, Samantha Hornsby, Isabelle Barbour and James Webster Kimble, IV, a very close nephew Jeffrey Dwayne Kimble (Heidi); several nieces and nephews; 3 very special friends, Michael Warrington, Shelby Belice and Missy Crew and her best friend of 46 years Barbara Ford (Dale) of Worton.
