Arty L. Boulden Jr, 67, of Galena, MD passed away suddenly on May 10, 2024, at home.
Arty was born on October 26, 1956, in Wilmington, DE to the late Betty (Woodrow) and Arthur L. Boulden, Sr. He grew up in Newark, DE attending Holy Angels and St. Mark's High School before moving to Cecil County where he graduated from Bo Manor High School. He met his wife Linda and they were married on September 24, 1977. He worked for his grandfather, A. Ralph Woodrow who owned a plumbing and heating business in Wilmington, later he worked for his father who owned A. L. Boulden & Sons Plumbing and Heating. Later, he worked as an ironworker and a waterman.
Arty spent many years of his youth at his grandparents house on the Bohemia River, where he developed his love for the water. His favorite days were spent on the river with friends and family boating, crabbing and fishing. He was also a collector of cars, trucks, boats, decoys and motorcycles. He even carved his own decoys from time to time. Arty was also known as the Classroom Dad at Millington Elementary where he would be seen chaperoning field trips, at field days and at every school event. Their house was the center of great times for children in the area, where they were able to enjoy the outdoors and go sledding in the winter.
In addition to his parents, Arty was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Quinn and his beloved black lab, Blaze.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Lamborn Boulden, 3 children; Jeffrey Boulden, Shalyn Boulden (Jordan Capel), and Mariah Boulden (Mitchell Zinnel); grandson, Brody Capel; and Macie Cannan, who was loved like a granddaughter; brothers, Andy Boulden (Karen) and Allen Boulden, his mother in law, Lois Lamborn Everett, his best friends, Norman "Nutty" Porter and Skip Bolinger, and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 9 - 10:30 AM at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on May 17, at 11 am at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 153 N. Main St. Galena, MD, where interment will follow at St. Dennis Cemetery in Galena.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Kent County Watermen's Association, PO Box 177, Rock Hall, MD 21661 or The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County, 10168 Worton Rd, Chestertown, MD 21620
