Anna Allison McGuire of Betterton, MD passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Compass Hospice in Centreville, MD. Annie, as she was affectionally called, was 87.
Annie was born January 15, 1937 in Bee Springs, KY, the daughter of the late Paul and Bertha Allison. Upon finishing her schooling, she later married Leonard R. Annie worked in the hospitality and food service industries for most of her adult life.
Annie moved to Betterton in 1999 to live with her daughter, Debbie and her husband, Jake. For several years she was employed as a caregiver. Annie was a voracious reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games. She also enjoyed playing poker and was an avid fan of the San Diego Charges and the New Orleans Saints. Annie knew her way around a kitchen too.
Annie was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Mac' McGuire, a daughter Karen Vansant, both of Oceanside, CA and her daughter, Debbie Williams of Betterton, MD.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Jake Williams of Betterton, a grandson, Steven Trotter of Lebanon, OR, a great grandson, Michael Trotter of Greensboro, MD and two great-great grandsons. She is also survived by a very special niece, Darlene Willis of New Albany, IN and two nephews, Kenneth and Alan Willis, both of Louisville, KY.
