Andrew Pyle Biggs, 93 of Cecilton, MD passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 6, 2025 at Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton, MD.
Mr. Biggs was born on June 6, 1932, son of the late Andrew W. and Elizabeth Pyle Biggs. He was raised in Fredericktown and later moved to Cecilton where he married Shirley Boyd in 1954. Mr. Biggs owned and operated the Gulf Station and later the Texaco Service Station in Cecilton with his uncle Lee Biggs until retiring in 1997.
He served as the Mayor of Cecilton where the town celebrates Andy Biggs Day. He helped at the Cecilton Carnival, raising money for the town's Christmas lights. Mr. Biggs owned a small farm on Sandy Bottom Rd. where he enjoyed raising goats. He was a member of Upper Bay Ruritan.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Shirley Boyd Biggs in 1995, a son in law Robert Short; and siblings John Norman Biggs, Sr., Benjamin Biggs, William 'Boots' Biggs, Grace Spray and Mary Hebron.
Mr. Biggs is survived by his children, Robin Short, Wanda Slagle (Jimmie), Sandra Frederick (Dale), Andrea Girard (Brian) and Frank Biggs (Christy); a brother Charles Biggs; 9 grandchildren Robert Short III, Christopher Short, Karen Slagle, Edward Frederick, Steven Frederick, Jeb Girard, Nathan Girard, Hilary Gralewski and Brittany McLennan and 14 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 9 from 3 to 5 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10 at 11 am. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Cecilton VFC, PO Box 565, Cecilton, MD 21913 or Upper Bay Ruritan, PO Box 181, Earleville, MD 21919.
