Alice Price Newnam, 70 of Galena, MD passed away on April 28, 2021 in Christiana Care, Union Hospital.
Alice was born on September 22, 1950 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Alan B. Price, Sr. and Audrey Alfree Price. She was a lifelong resident of Galena where she was a 1968 graduate of Galena High School. She attended college and Beauty School, but began her career in 1980 at Twinny's Place, a restaurant owned and operated by her parents, where she worked for 41 years and owned for the past 17 years.
There is no one who hasn't been a recipient of Alice's immense generosity. From donating to local churches and other non-profits to the first-time customer at the counter who forgot their wallet. She would say "Pay me the next time you're in". From law enforcement officers to state highway personnel from ministers to soldiers in uniform Alice would cater to them without asking for anything in return. She tended to many widows and widowers of the community treating them as if there were her own family, knowing that this is probably the only hot meal they will eat that day. Alice truly enjoyed the children that came in; excited to be there, calling her Miss Twinny or Aunt Twinny. She watched them grow up over the years becoming Twinny's kids. She did all of this while honoring her parents in the tradition they set forth.
Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Dale B. Price.
Mrs. Newnam is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jackie Newnam; daughter, Jennifer Willey; sister, JoAnne Price (Ed Watts); brothers Alan B. Price, Jr. (Karen) and Alvah A. Price (João Lucas); grandsons, Hobie Willey and Brandon Willey and numerous nieces and nephews.
