Alfred Franklin Dickerson Jr., 68, of Chestertown, MD died on July 23, 2026 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, after a long battle with cancer.

Al was born on March 13, 1958 in Chestertown to the late Alfred F. Dickerson Sr. and Nancy Reynolds Dickerson. He was a lifelong resident of Kent County and a graduate of Kent County High School. At an early age he found a passion for working on and near the water, as well as working with his hands. He worked for many years at Swan Creek Marina in Rock Hall and was an excellent carpenter.

When Al wasn’t working he enjoyed boating and fishing. His favorite memories are times spent with family and friends anchored out in the water. He also enjoyed being with his family and watching his grandkids and great grandson grow up.

Along with his father, he is preceded in death by two brothers Wayde Dickerson and Brian Dickerson, and son Milton Blockston.

Al is survived by his mother Nancy Dickerson; daughters Kelly Dickerson, Courtney Brown and Brandy Blockston (Darius); sister Loretta Glenn (Debra Loller); brother Kevin Dickerson (Kristin); grandchildren Cheyenne Blockston, Aaliyah Houston, Destiny Waits, Clark Blockston; great grandson Legend Blockston and six nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately.
