Obituary

Agnes L. Marsh, 95 of Chestertown, MD passed away on November 23, 2022 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Aggie was born on May 21, 1927, daughter of the late John Emory Beck and Dorothy Louise Meekins Beck.  She was raised in Broad Neck and at the age of 8 her family moved to Pikesville, and in 1972 moved to Grasonville.  Agnes worked for A & P for 17 years and Giant Food for 28 years, retiring in 1993, and returned to Chestertown.  She and her companion Bob enjoyed winters in Florida.

She was a member of Crumpton United Methodist Church and a life member of VFW Post 652 in Millington, where she loved Saturday Night dances and bingo.  Agnes was a Ravens Fan and loved feeding her birds.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1 st husband of 49 years, Franklin C. Duncan in 1997, 2 nd husband of 4 years, Eugene Marsh in 2003 and dear companion of 17 years Robert Hopkins, her son David Franklin Duncan in 2007, and 4 sisters, Helen Elizabeth States, Bernice 'Bernie' Blouse, Anna Mary Bean and Barbara Ellen Wantz.

Aggie is survived by her grandson, Franklin Duncan and his wife Mary of Greensboro, MD, a daughter in law, Martha Duncan of Denton, MD; sister Charlotte Ritter of Halethorpe, MD, great granddaughter Amber Duncan; great grandchildren Anna, David and Paisley Gunn; very special friends Carolyn and George Hopkins (brother and sister-in-law to Bob) and many loving nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 30 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 12 pm.  Burial will be held at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.

Memorials may be offered to a charity of your choice.
